The standard behind our standards

When it comes to drinking water, the quality of the certification matters just as much as the quality of the filter.

Confidence in your drinking water starts with confidence in the testing...

That's why we've chosen NSF certification — one of the world's most respected independent organisations for testing and approving domestic drinking water treatment units. Unlike manufacturer testing alone, NSF independently verifies that our system performance meets rigorous standards for safety and contaminant reduction.

Not all certifications are equal. Different bodies test to different standards, assess different claims, and apply different levels of scrutiny. The standard behind the certification matters as much as the certification itself.

For us, NSF isn't a logo on the box. It reflects the standard we hold ourselves to, and the confidence we want you to have in every glass of water.

Our NSF certifications.

Our Home Water System II has achieved five separate NSF certifications. Each one verifies a different aspect of the system's safety or performance - independently tested, not simply claimed by the manufacturer.

Together, they reflect our commitment to quality, transparency and giving you confidence in every glass of water.

NSF/ANSI 53

Health-Related Contaminants

Certified to reduce contaminants that may affect your health.

This standard verifies the reduction of contaminants such as lead and other potentially harmful substances, helping provide cleaner, safer drinking water.

NSF/ANSI 401

Emerging Contaminants

Certified to reduce emerging contaminants.

This certification covers contaminants such as certain pharmaceuticals, pesticides, herbicides and BPA that can sometimes be found in drinking water.

NSF/ANSI 55

UV Water Disinfection

Certified to disinfect water using UV technology.

This certification confirms the UV purification system effectively reduces bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms that may be present in your water.

NSF/ANSI 42

Better Taste & Odour

Certified to improve the taste and smell of your drinking water.

This certification verifies that our filter reduces chlorine and other substances that can affect the taste and odour of your water, so every glass tastes fresher.

NSF/ANSI 372

Lead-Free Materials

Certified lead-free.

This standard confirms the materials used in the product meet strict lead-foot print requirements for components that come into contact with your drinking water.

The standard behind our standards

We don't just rely on manufacturer testing. Our filtration performance is independently verified by NSF, giving you confidence that our product performs as claimed.

NSF develops internationally recognised standards for drinking water treatment units and independently certifies products against them. That's why it's trusted by manufacturers, regulators and consumers around the world.

When it comes to drinking water, the quality of the certification matters just as much as the quality of the filter. We chose NSF because we believe our customers deserve confidence backed by independent verification.

What is NSF?

Think of NSF as an independent 3rd party testing agency . NSF standard are internationally recognised standards for drinking water treatment systems and tests products to verify they meet specific safety and performance claims. Its role is to provide consumers with confidence that certified products have been assessed by an impartial third party.

Why does certification matter?

Anyone can make claims about a water filter and water treatment. Independent certification make sure that those claims against recognised standards, giving you greater confidence that a product performs as promised.

Aren't all certifications the same?

No. Different certification bodies might use different testing methods, different standards and different levels of assessment. Some verify only certain aspects of a product, while others require more comprehensive testing. That's why it's worth looking beyond the certification logo and asking what standard sits behind it. A trusted certification should clearly explain what has been tested, how it has been tested and which performance claims have been independently verified.

Why did Our Taap choose NSF standards?

Because we believe our customers deserve more than promises. We wanted every performance claim we make to be supported by independent verification, not simply by our own testing. Choosing NSF standards reflects our commitment to quality, transparency and giving our customers confidence in the water they drink every day.

What should I look for when comparing water filters?

NSF doesn't manufacture water filters. What it does provide is independent verification that a certified product performs as claimed against the standards it has been tested to meet. We believe that's an important distinction - and one that gives our customers added peace of mind.

Is NSF certification a one-off test?

No. NSF certification isn't simply about passing a single test. It includes an ongoing process including auditing of the production to help ensure certified products continue to meet the relevant standards over time.

Does NSF make the filter better?

When you're comparing products, we'd always recommend asking a few simple questions: Is the product independently certified? Who carried out the testing? What standards is the system was certified to? What contaminants has it been tested to reduce? Are the performance claims independently verified? Those answers will often tell you far more than a list of marketing claims.
