We started with a simple belief: that everyone in the UK deserves pure, great-tasting water at home, without the plastic, the fuss, or the small print. Fourteen years and more than 90,000 homes later, that belief hasn't changed.

Most tap water in the UK is safe to drink. We think safe is a reasonable starting point, not the finishing line. So we built something better: filtration that genuinely improves how your water tastes, removes what doesn't need to be there, and fits quietly into your home without any fuss.
Because when water tastes that good, drinking more of it tends to take care of itself.
We've been in UK homes for 14 years - first as Virgin Pure, now as Our Taap. The name changed. The people, the purpose and the slightly obsessive approach to water quality didn't.
It started with a question.
Why should pure water cost the earth?
In 2012, Holly Branson brought together a clean-tech team under Virgin Pure with a straightforward mission: reinvent the way families drink water at home.
The conviction behind it was simple. Pure drinking water shouldn't rely on an endless supply of single-use plastic bottles. Every home in the UK should be able to enjoy genuinely clean, genuinely great-tasting water - without complicated systems, and without it costing a fortune.

Today, as Our Taap, we're the UK's leading subscription hydration brand - with over 90,000+ homes served and more than 120 million single-use plastic bottles kept out of the environment. We mention that second number quite a lot. We're rather proud of it.

2025 - Our Taap is born
A new name that's entirely ours. Our contracts, our service, our team and our mission stayed exactly the same. Today and Always Pure.
2023 - Culligan International invests
The world's number one water company - operating in 65+ countries with over 80 years of expertise - invests in the business. Recognition of what we'd built, and a chance to make it even better.
Building on the Virgin Pure foundations, Tom brings together the team that would grow Our Taap into the UK's leading subscription hydration brand - combining smart technology, considered design, and a service model built around the customer.

The thing that doesn't always get talked about
Limescale is a genuine problem, particularly in hard water areas. It builds up quietly, shortens the life of kettles and boilers, and tends to make its presence known only after it's already caused damage.
It's not the most exciting part of choosing a water system. Limescale, unfortunately, doesn't seem to mind.

Founded in 1936, Culligan International is the world's most established name in water treatment - operating in over 65 countries and setting standards in water quality, engineering and innovation that we're proud to build on.
Our HWS2 was independently tested by the Good Housekeeping Institute and scored 96/100 for taste and quality - one of the highest scores ever awarded for a countertop water system. Which made us very happy. We're slightly obsessive about water quality, so external validation is always welcome.
There's a lot of science behind what we do. The part that matters, though, is straightforward: with Our Taap, you get purity you can actually taste.

Our team didn't change when we left Virgin. It didn't change when Culligan came on board. In a category full of new brands making bold promises, we think continuity matters. Our customers tend to agree - and they tell us it's one of the reasons they stay.
Tom Stazicker has been CEO since 2017. His focus has stayed consistent: make genuinely good water accessible, make the service feel effortless, and never lose sight of the environmental mission that started everything.
