Try pouring water from your tap, do you detect the same odour?
Thoroughly clean the glass or cup you are using, ideally with out any chemicals and retest water with one.
Sometimes dishwashers etc. can leave a residue in glass or require internal cleaning themselves to keep dishes fresh and clean
